Postal code and route mapping in Canada is a little different from that of the States. In fact, they are undergoing a change in the way they handle their street addresses. One example of this, is in the Burlington area. Most of this area is a part of Rural Route #2 Milton, and Rural Route #6 Milton, and then still Rural Route #3 Campbellville for their mail delivery.

But, while this is true, these areas all still have an address that is a Burlington street address. This fact has caused many to suffer having their mail incorrectly reflect them living in the wrong location. It has made delivery very difficult and confusing. It has also been the cause of loss of access to emergency services. So they decided to change the postal identifier to Burlington so the rural areas will get the same type of mail delivery as everyone else in Burlington.

They began the process of fixing this problem in 2005. Local counselors and Parliament members met with people from the Canada Post and work on a solution to this confusing problem. It’s estimated that there are more than a million bags that are lost by the airlines each year in the U.S. alone. How many get lost in the whole world is anyone’s guess. Here are a few tips that may help you recover your bags if they should they get lost.

Attach two or three tags with your name, home address, and phone number to the handle and the zipper-pulls of each bag that you are checking. There is less of a chance that all of the tags could get torn off during transit. You should make sure that you have removed any old airline tags that are still attached to the luggage you’re checking as they could confuse the baggage handlers.

Be sure to place the same contact information, including a copy of your itinerary and your destination address inside each piece luggage. That way, if they do get lost and are found in time, they could be forwarded to your hotel.  Read more...

The good news for the Kansas City Chiefs as they prepare for the start of the NFL regular season is that their starting quarterback is back at practice. The bad news is that they still don’t know when hell be able to play. Matt Cassel returned to the Chiefs practice field on Monday for the first time since he injured his left knee in a NFL preseason game on August 29th. Still, there’s been no confirmation from either he or the team as to when hell return to action.

Cassel, who saw his stock shoot up precipitously as an NFL QB following his solid play in New England after starter Tom Brady went down to a season ending injury, signed a longterm deal with Kansas City in the off season. Although Cassel was in full uniform at Mondays practice, head coach Todd Haley was noncommittal about whether he or Brodie Croyle would start Sundays NFL regular season opener on the road against the Baltimore Ravens:

“I think that as the week goes on, we’ll know a little bit more. We’ll know a little bit more with Matt for sure. But it was good that he was out there. He was able to get through some things. As the week goes on a little further, we’ll know a little more as far as where he’s at.”  Read more...

Gina Carano put women’s MMA on the map, but Cris Cyborg Santos may have become the sports first dominant female champion by virtue of her overwhelming TKO victory in the main event of Saturdays STRIKEFORCE event. Cyborg simply was too physically strong and her punches too powerful for Carano, who fought valiantly before succumbing to a barrage of ground and pound punches with one second remaining in the first round.

Before a near capacity crowd at San Jose’s HP Pavilion, Carano and Cyborg made history as the first women to headline a major US mixed martial arts event. The crowd went nuts for Carano, who was accompanied into the arena by Randy Couture who trained her for the matchup.

Despite the fight being scheduled for five rounds of five minutes each, the women set a frantic pace from the opening horn. Cyborgs size and strength advantage was apparent from the outset, as she landed an immediate flurry of punches before taking Carano to the canvas. Carano landed in top position, but quickly found herself in trouble as Cyborg worked for a kneebar and then a heel hook.  Read more...

In France there is a high speed train called train a grande viteese or in short TGV that runs on five major tracks.

The TVG south east line connects Paris with the south east of France including the main regional cities of Lyon, Dijon, Avignon, Marseille, Nice and Perpignon. This TGV train service also passes through the French Alps and stops at Geneva in Switzerland.

Paris and the west coast are linked by the TGV Atlantic line. Nantes, La Rochelle, Toulouse the Loire Valley, Bordeaux and the French Basque are the stops allotted for this TGV train line.

The high speed TGV northern train line links Paris to Lille and Calais, two of the principal cities in the north of France.

The most famous railway line in France called the Eurostar links Paris and London and it passes through the Channel Tunnel with stops at Lille, Calais and Ashford in Kent.

TGV Thalys is the high speed line which makes it easy for the travellers to move between some principal cities of Europe such as Brussels, Cologne and Amsterdam and France.  Read more...

This scenic drive meanders through the Blackall Range, the emerald green hills that surround the beaches and resort villages of the Sunshine Coast.
