Morocco is a popular tourist destination in northwestern Africa and provides wonderful gay vacations. This is a land of rich history, deeply entrenched culture, legend and myth. Well-known as a setting for books, play and movies, this desert nation offers visitors the opportunity to explore ancient ruins, traipse across the desert on a camel, stay in a hotel made of sand and bargain with insistent rug and spice traders in old-world open air marketplaces. Here are some of the things that I had learned whilst doing a gay Grand Canyon rafting trip. There is very knowledgeable staff that toured us down the river, but by some of the pictures and tid-bits I read a lot while staying for three days. The Canyon was formed by the Colorado River. It took nearly 17 million years to get the shape it has today.

With the steep cliffs that the water and wind had eroded away. It was one of the first national parks in the United States and was dedicated as such by Theodore Roosevelt on Nov. 28, 1906. Although the river is 286 miles long, ranging in width from 4 to 18 miles and is as deep as a mile, it is not the longest river in the world. Nor is it the widest.

Kali Gandaki in Nepal is deeper, while Capertu Valley in Australia is about 1 km. Longer. Nearly 5 million people go to visit the canyon per year which is why they now have enforced a law that requires anyone who has traveled down the river within a single year may only do it once. When people think of Mexico they tend to think of this country as traditional, macho and Catholic. Nothing is further from the truth. Just like everywhere else there are places where there is homosexuality in Mexico.

In fact, the state of Coahuila and Mexico City itself have legalized civil unions for gay and lesbian couples, with Michoacan, Veracruz, Puebla, Guerrero, Colima and Jalisco being well on their way to doing the same.

Despite the impression people have of Mexico as a conservative and religious nation, in some regards it leads its neighbors. However, many Mexican gays and lesbians are not out about their sexuality. Even though homosexuality is largely accepted in Mexico, a lot of gays and lesbians in Mexico would rather not proclaim their sexual preferences to the world.

In general, Mexicans are more private about their personal lives than are Americans. Mexico is a country which gladly welcomes vacationers gay and straight alike. Mexico is such a gay friendly country that Planetout named it the top destination for gay travel in 2007.

Vacations are something that everyone takes in order to get themselves out of the hustle and bustle of the real world for a little bit of relaxation and rejuvenation. This time away is very important to both our physical and mental health. There are many different types of vacations that one can take in order to fill these needs.

You can vacation alone, with friends or family, or you can travel with a group. You can also choose to travel with a group of people that have similar backgrounds and interests. Gay vacations and travel is one choice for gay people.

On gay vacations, our gayness is one thing we all have in common. This shared life experience can only add to our vacation experience. Bonds are quickly formed in the group due to our shared experiences in life.

People we have just met can quickly become friends and confidants. This makes gay vacations all the more special and meaningful. We’re able to share our vacation experience with others that we know understand us.
