The lowest level of amenities will be received at extended stay properties. Since the 1970’s, the physician and patient ratio has been steadily increasing across the country. The result of the increase is much less time spent with patients. This can result in errors in diagnosis, a loss in developing a personal trust with the patient, and patients not receiving proper medical care. However, there are a number of ways to improve physician to patient ratio which will result in more time spent with the patient, more time on preventive care, improving medical care, and developing better relationships between the doctor and patient.

Ways to improve the physician to patient ratio:

1. Arrange for physician schedules to be more consistent. For instance, schedule physicians to work 3 or 4 days consecutively instead of varying ‘off and on’ days. There can often be much time and expense wasted during doctor transitions. As well, a doctor on a set schedule will spend more time with a particular patient.

2. Improve physician communication with staff and other physicians when they are scheduled for their days off. This includes making use of modern technology such as email and websites to update the staff about patients.

Are you stuck in a small town with only elderly people and really need to get away? Do you work for minimum wage in a big city and live in a roach infested dump? It doesn’t matter what your reasons are, sometimes things just need to change a bit. So what do you do when you absolutely need to move but have a budget of one can of old tuna? The first thing you need to do is to take action, the rest you can fix as you move along. Read these tips to get the ball rolling.

1. Decide to move and act on it. Once you have decided, no more excuses. Work towards this goal and let nothing stop you. It is normal to have doubts at this stage, but you will be happy that you ignored them once you are done.

2. Set a reasonable date and aim for it. Don’t wait for your next birthday, don’t wait for summer, don’t wait for the next Transformers movie. These are just bad excuses you keep coming up with, so ignore them.

For the English Teacher in Taiwan There’s abundant information on the internet about teaching English to children in Taiwan, but there is very little information about the ’special events’ that an English teacher might find themselves roped into by their school. This is the story of a ’special event’ that I did when I was a teacher at Hess Educational Organization.

Cami, you would like to tell a story in the park on Saturday? says my Taiwanese branch manager. uhm what? I say, looking up from a stack of papers that I’m grading. Yes, I think you will like very much. And maybe you sing song too. If confusion was apparent on my face, my manager showed no signs of knowing it. So yes, I think we will meet at sports park, 10am. Huh? Okay good, my manager walks away from this baffling exchange, satisfied. I later asked my western manager, or Head Native Speaking Teacher, what this was all about. I think it’s like, an event for the children of the community. You just go to a park and read a story. It’ll be fun.
